Despite almost every other U.S. sporting event being canceled because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, UFC 249 remains on track to take place April 18.
The event got an updated headliner Monday in Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Gaethje. Ferguson was previously scheduled to face Khabib Nurmagomedov, but Nurmagomedov is stuck in Russia amid the world health crisis. Ferguson and Gaethje will fight for the interim lightweight title.
UFC 249 also announced its full fight card Monday, which includes Yorgan De Castro vs. Greg Hardy and Vicente Luque vs. Niko Price.
The location of UFC 249 has not yet been announced.
Originally booked for Brooklyn, N.Y., it could now take place on the West Coast, according to reports.
